“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.For in him all things were created:
things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things have been created through him and for him.”

When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree,
but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

The Feast of Divine Mercy, celebrated on the Octave of Easter (the Sunday after Easter Sunday), is a relatively new addition to the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar. Celebrating the Divine Mercy of Jesus Christ, as revealed by Christ Himself to Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, this feast was extended to the entire Catholic Church by Pope John Paul II on April 30, 2000, the day that he canonized Saint Faustina.

Several members of the Immaculate Conception Foundation joined a group from Our Lady of the Lakes Parrish in Miami Lakes to carry a “Mission of Love”, visiting the Hogar de Ninas Hijas de la Altagracia in El Llano, Bani, Dominican Republic. The mission, organized by Jeanette Hernandez, one of the oldest contributors to the Hogar, from Our Lady of the Lakes, took place on February 10 to 13, 2012, and included 3 nights at the Hotel Jaragua, transportation to the Hogar (to spend the day with the girls), guided tour of Santo Domingo, lunch at El Conuco Restaurant, and Mass at the Cathedral. We’ll be posting selected video clips at a later date, so please come back to the website soon. Enjoy!
