Although this site contains ‘regular’ pages that display semi-permanent data (e.g., this page, Vision Statement, By-Laws, etc.), it is structured as a “blog”.
What is a “blog”?
“Blog” is an abbreviated version of “weblog,” which is a term used to describe web sites that maintain an ongoing chronicle of information. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.
What is the purpose of this “blog”?
This blog is intended to provide a repository of information pertinent to the activities of the Immaculate Conception Foundation, including issues related to the planning of those activities, and comments from the members that will enhance the performance of future activities. Examples of these are:
- Meeting Agenda
- Meeting Minutes
- Requests for Info
- Spiritual Activities (Manana/Dia de Oracion, Taller Contemplativo, etc.)
- Fundraising Activities
- Social Activities
- Children Activities in Dom. Rep.
- Website Updates
- Other areas of common interest
Note that this is the first iteration of this site. Your suggestions and ideas will help make this blog a useful tool in our efforts to share information in a timely and efficient manner.
Who can view this blog? Who can submit entries? Who can comment on those entries?
This blog will be available to the public around the world. However, unregistered and newly registered users will not have access to some restricted categories of posts, such as Meeting Minutes. Furthermore, only registered users will be allowed to enter comments on the posts. All comments will be moderated, so their publication will be delayed briefly. A user may self-register from the Log In screen. Please, contact me if you need the capability to post new entries and/or access to all categories of posts, or if you need help with the use of this blog.
